Social media to drive traffic and event attendance
Cambridge Cleantech is based at Allia Future Business Centre in Cambridge. It is a member organisation that helps startups, SMEs and corporates in the cleantech sector connect with each other. Cambridge Startup Help assists the Cambridge Cleantech marketing team with social media, to help the team cover this marketing channel effectively.
Partnerships are very important for cleantech organisations. For corporates they need to find new suppliers to help them meet Net Zero targets. For startups and SMEs they need to meet buyers who can help them gain market reach.
Cambridge Cleantech runs several events throughout the year to help companies find potential partners. The events include Meet the Buyer events, sector specific events and the annual Cleantech Venture Day. This event gives startups an opportunity to pitch in front of investors and the audience. In 2020, the event was ran in association with Choose Paris Region which highlighted the opportunities for cleantech companies in Paris.
Cambridge Startup Help worked with Cambridge Cleantech to help drive attendance to the events.
In collaboration with the Cambridge Cleantech partners, the events and news were promoted on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The social media activity, as part of an integrated marketing plan, helped the Cleantech Venture Day to be sold out. Furthermore, over 1,000 followers have been added to the Twitter account.
